Where & When
Abersoch Keelboat Week is hosted by the South
Caernarfonshire Yacht Club (SCYC) in
the waters of Tremadoc Bay, Admiralty Chart 1971. The event will take place between 22nd - 26th August 2011.
How to enter & register
We ask that entries be made on the official Entry form
accompanied by the correct entry fee no later than
Sunday 31st July 2011.
Late entries accompanied by a late entry fee will be
accepted at the Race Committee’s discretion until
16.30 hrs on Sunday 21st August 2011. Yachts may
enter for the whole series or single days.
Entries for a single days racing may be accepted on
that day up to 10.00 hrs. Registration must be made at the Abersoch
Keelboat Week Race Office on Sunday 21st
August 2011. Race packs, sponsor’s flags and/
or bow decals when applicable will be issued at
registration. This office will remain open from 15.00hrs until 16.30 hrs and again for 30 minutes after the
skippers’ briefing which is at 17.00 hours. Skippers Briefing will be on Sunday 21st August
2011 at SCYC at 17.00 hours.
Moorings & Berthing
Swing moorings are available for all sizes of
visiting boats. Requests for a mooring, stating
requirements, should be submitted on the entry
form no later than 17th July 2011. Moorings are
limited in number, and will be allocated strictly on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. A launch service between SCYC and St Tudwals
Roads moorings will operate each day during
Keelboat week.
Competitors requiring Marina Berths at Pwllheli should make private arrangements with
Hafan Pwllheli for any marina service. Telephone:

Accomodation

Classes
Racing will be provided for IRC and PYS rated
yachts. IRC will be divided into IRC 1, IRC2 and
Sigma 33 divisions. PYS will be divided into
Gentleman’s No Spinnaker and Gentleman’s
Spinnaker divisions.
Notice of Race

Sailing Instructions
These will be available to each competitor on receipt
of a completed entry form and entry fee. They will
also be available at the Abersoch Keelboat Week
Race Office on registration and also on the official
Abersoch Keelboat Week Website.
Racing & Courses
There will be racing for all classes each day from
Monday 22nd to Friday 26th August 2011. The type of racing may be chosen from Windward/
Leeward, Triangle, ‘Round the Cans’ and Coastal
Scenic courses. Usually there are two races a day except when classes are sailing the Coastal race when only one race will be sailed.
Results
Results are posted on the Event notice board on the middle deck at SCYC as soon as possible after the days racing. They will also be available on the Event website at www.abersochkeelboatweek.org/kb_wkresults.asp
Prizes & Prizegivings
Prizes will be awarded to each class. The number of
prizes will depend on the number of entries. Daily prizegivings take place in the bar each evening after racing.
Social
The bar is open every night during the event. The Cove restaurant will also be open during the event - check notice board for exact details and menus. There will also be a selection of different bands playing in the bar each night.
